Mounds and Pits

Mounds and Pits

Mounds are small piles of soil, the soil from the construction of pit-dwellings or the digging of holes, burnt soil, charcoal, stone tools, and broken pottery that were dumped in the same area. The maximum thickness is about two meters. There are three mound areas: north, south and west.
Pits are holes dug into the ground and come in a variety of shapes.
