Explanation | Jade is a hard green stone, and those from Itoigawa were used for accessories. In the middle period, jade products were excavated from southern Hokkaido to the northern Tohoku region. The quantity of jade products at the Sannai Maruyama site is noticeably larger than at other settlements, and the presence of some unfinished products suggests that processing was carried out within the settlement. |
